The answer is not so simple, because it changes over time as well as across countries. A 2015 survey reported that blue was the most popular across the board, followed by green for men and purple for women. However, in 2017, another survey of 30,000 people across 100 countries found deep teal to be the most popular colour. So, as it seems, the preference for colour is not constant, but is constantly changing.
